After the Grand Canyon we headed for Vegas via a small town town called St.George where we took time to give the landy a much needed oil change (even the landy needs its oil changing) and upload all our photos of the canyons onto the web. Inquiring about web access at the library, we saw the true heights of American laziness, a drive 'thru' book return! The library was staffed by an old dragon who wouldn't let us connect our lappy directly to the phone line but we wickedly found a connection thanks to the local service provider InfoWest who gave us a free account for the day.

A quick sprint west in the landy and the bright lights of Vegas filled the horizon. We found an RV park with a pool right on the main strip and great views of the Stratosphere tower - which has the highest whiteknuckle rides in the world. The air is so hot that walking around on the streets is like putting your head in a tumble dryer, but we met some cool people and even got made honorary bruvvahs for the night.

Thursday night we went to our first disco of the trip - a cool club called Ra and although the oil didnt get changed at least the mechanics turned up for work at last. Next stop LA...
