Oaxaca is another colonial town and very popular with tourists but Puebla had more to offer architecture wise. Monte Alban rises above the town and is an interesting pyramid site of the Zapotec culture. 12kms on the other side of Oaxaca is the savino tree of El Tule which is supposed to be over 2000 years old, is 42m high and weighs over 600 tons.

Monte Alban wasn't as good as Teotihuacan but was definitely worth a visit. In need of sun and sand we headed towards Puerto Escondido, one of the top surf spots in the world.
