ihana.com - big trip - diary - belize - landys in belize

After driving through Mexico and seeing only two landies, Belize is a big contrast. There are the landies of the British and Belizean armies driving about plus those of various companies, aid agencies and privately owned Defenders, old and new shape Range Rovers, Discoveries and Freelanders.

As the Fridge had broken his gearbox we had to go to a landy scrapyard to get another one. This is run by a guy called Steve and is beside the 22 mile marker post on the Northern highway from Belize City. The photos below show some of the 40 or so landies that were there.

At the bottom is Daniel Lopez's cool ambulance 110 diesel and a couple of army 110s hes got in his his scrapyard at Belmopan.
