We all went on a Sacred Valley tour which started with a visit to the famous Pisac market. T was imagining more of a rustic style arrangement but instead the whole village is packed full of stalls selling everything peruvian you can imagine. Some of the stuff is reasonably priced but La Paz is still the best place for this sort of thing.
Pisac also has some interesting Inca ruins which involve a short climb up the side of the mountain. The views are breathtaking, so is the altitude for the more mature visitors!

Following the valley along we arrived at Ollantaytambo which is an impressive place, consisting of huge irrigated terraces and a sun temple at the top. The temple is made from four huge stones fitted together perfectly. Various lumps and bumps show shadows at different sun phases. A mountain opposite has a face carved into it.

After a great time in Cusco we were lucky to be able to celebrate at the yearly Cusco music festival with top bands from Peru and other countries and, of course, plenty of beers.
Now its back to Lima for a couple of weeks chilling before we continue north towards Ecuador via some peruvian mountains, of course.
