White Rim Trail, Canyonlands National Park, Moab, Utah.

This page shows the scenery we saw on the White Rim Trail.

The trail descended from the top of the canyon into a level area called the White Rim, because its white and its the top edge of a deeper series of almost endless side canyons filled with spires and other wicked rock formations. At the bottom meanders the Colorado River.

These three layers are also made of different rock: sandstone, limestone and shale which all erode differently and make the area so distinctive. Its an awe inspiring place, every view is worth a photo, heres a few of the more significant ones.
